A wedding in Thailand carries two prices. One is the cost of registering the marriage. The other is the cost of the celebration, which is the venue, the dinner, the photographer and your guests. This article is about the second price. The dollar figures in it are conversions from baht made by the sources themselves. Exchange rates move.
If you plan to register your marriage in Thailand, our marriage registration service covers the documents, the legalization and the district office for one fixed fee.
Keemala is a resort in Phuket. Its published cost guide of 7 August 2026 states that most professionally planned resort packages in Phuket begin at around 55,000 baht, about 1,600 United States dollars. Its cheapest band is priced under about 2,700 dollars. That band covers a basic ceremony setup, a celebrant, a bouquet and photography. A celebrant is the person who leads the ceremony and reads the words aloud. In Chiang Mai, 137 Pillars House publishes a Western wedding package at 155,500 baht (~4,690 USD). That package includes snacks, coffee and tea for fifty guests.
Keemala states that many resort packages include the reception space but require a minimum food and beverage spend. That is the smallest amount you must spend on food and drink before the venue will hold the event. Keemala says that minimum typically runs between 3,500 and 7,500 dollars.
At 137 Pillars House, a Western set menu starts at 1,700 baht (~50 USD) a person. The venue writes that price with two plus signs. Those signs mean that a service charge and a tax are added to the figure shown. A service charge is an amount the venue adds for service, set by the venue rather than left to you.
Phuket Weds is a wedding planning consultancy that works across the island of Phuket. Its figures for a group of thirty people count most of the normal inclusions, not all of them, so none is a finished total. It puts that group at upwards of 400,000 baht (~12,060 USD) at Sri Panwa, upwards of 300,000 baht (~9,050 USD) at the JW Marriott and upwards of 280,000 baht (~8,440 USD) at the Thavorn.
The same page starts a villa wedding for thirty people at around 300,000 baht (~9,050 USD). The villa rental is added to that. So is a venue party fee. The page sets that fee at twice the villa rental for the night of the event. Villas start at around 30,000 baht (~905 USD) each for four to five rooms. The normal minimum rental is three nights.
Keemala's table puts a small Phuket wedding of twenty to fifty guests at 3,000 to 7,500 dollars. It puts a luxury intimate wedding at 7,500 to 15,000 dollars or more. The bottom of that range is below the smallest food and drink minimum on the same page. Read the tier figures as a package price, not the price of a finished wedding. To build your own number, add the package price, the venue's minimum food and drink spend, and what you book yourself.
A published price does not show whether a venue will host two men or two women as legal spouses. Ask the venue that question directly and in writing before you pay a deposit. We work with wedding venues, hotels and restaurants that welcome LGBTQ couples to support the rest of your trip. We do not plan or price the celebration.
Our fee is 49,000 baht (~1,480 USD) for both of you and it does not change. VAT and government fees are included. It is paid in three stages, 4,900 baht (~150 USD) when you book, 19,600 baht (~590 USD) when your documents are approved, and 24,500 baht (~740 USD) after you are married. The last stage is not charged if the marriage does not go through. The fee covers the checking of your documents, their translation into Thai, the legalization at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the district office booking, the government fees and the pick-up and transport of your documents. Legalization is the Thai government's certification that a document and its translation are genuine. A district office is the government office that registers marriages. Embassy fees, the cost of preparing your documents before you arrive, and your hotel, ceremony and photographer are not in it. A registration outside the Bangkok region costs 10,000 baht (~300 USD) extra.
The length of the trip belongs in the budget. The legal work can take one working day in Thailand, when your documents and a power of attorney are legalized at home and sent to us in advance. A power of attorney is a document that authorizes another person to act for you. If you bring your documents with you, it needs six working days at the minimum after the embassy step, and we recommend eight to ten. Working days are days on which Thai government offices are open. The embassy step is the appointment at your own country's embassy in Thailand where the document showing you are free to marry is issued. Not every nationality needs that step. Price those nights for both of you.
Pride Legal Thailand handles the registration, so your planning time and your money can go to the celebration. We make the marriage something you can plan from abroad and complete in a single trip.
Pride Legal Thailand arranges the registration of marriages in Thailand for two people of any gender and any nationality. The fee is ฿49,000 (~1,480 USD) for both partners, fixed, with VAT and government fees included; registration outside the Bangkok region costs ฿10,000 (~300 USD) more.
